Track and Field

An SMB student crosses the finish line during a race at a track and field meet.

At Kenora Catholic there are three big track and field meets that take place at the end of the school year. Students from École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys take part in two of the the three meets. The first is for Grades 4, 5 and 6. Those students compete against other KCDSB students and students from KPDSB elementary schools at a meet in late June.

In 2018, Kenora Catholic held the first Kindertrack meet. All Kindergarten students gathered at St. Thomas Aquinas High School to participate in modified track and field events. They compete in events like the 80m instead of 800m, throwing a pool noodle instead of a javelin, and the low jump in place of the high jump. The event is a great way to bring together students from across Kenora for a fun and active day out in the sun.

The third meet is for athletes in Grades 7 and 8 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and they compete locally against Beaver Brae students.
