The spirit of the voyageurs came to life in a truly memorable way as the KCDSB community gathered for this year’s Festival du Voyageur celebration. Hosted at École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys, the event welcomed families and community members for an evening filled with culture, connection, and winter fun.

Students from Mlle Shura’s Grade 3/4 class and Mme Andrea’s Grade 5/6 class embarked on an exciting field trip to The MUSE.

Our Grade 4 and 5 students and staff had an unforgettable experience participating in the Kenora Chiefs Advisory’s 4th Annual Fall Harvest at the KCA Youth and Family Wellness Camp (Strecker’s Farm). With perfect weather setting the stage, students immersed themselves in learning about local Indigenous traditions and customs.

École Ste Marguerite Bourgeoys had the privilege of welcoming back an accomplished alumna, Marlee Boucha, who is a National Wrestling Champion.

The young adventurers embarked on an educational journey that included tours of the Orange base and the MNR helicopter. Excitement filled the air as they explored the ins and outs of the airport, learning about the vital roles these aircraft play in our community.
