École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys students and staff celebrated the feast day of their patron saint earlier this week. Even with COVID-19 restrictions in place, the school was able to come together virtually to celebrate the life of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys.

Principal Hilary Aiken talked about how the school celebrated.

“We look forward to celebrating our patron saint, Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys every year by remembering her fierce devotion to God and the dedication to her mission to care for children and their families.  We strive to live out her mission everyday her at school by making a difference in the lives of others and by never giving up,” she explained.

A virtual prayer service was held, and cake was safety distributed to students during their first nutrition break.

Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys was canonized in 1982 and is the first female Saint of Canada. Throughout her life she was dedicated to charitable work and teaching children.
